Bit-N-Heaven Stables and Trail Riders Feed & Tack are for sale.

Welcome to Bit-N-Heaven Stables and Trail Riders Feed & Tack. My name is Mike Nenni and I have been around horses most of my life. I purchased the farm in 2003 and shortly after that started having several barns built by Morton Buildings. Initially began by selling Purina Horse Feed and boarding a few horses. There are a total of 9 12’X12' stalls and 4 12'X24' foaling stalls all equipped with Nelson waterers. A 135'X70' indoor riding barn with an overhead sprinkling system and very large lights. There is a large viewing deck for events. There are 17 different fields for grazing that many have automatic Nelson waterers. Needless I spared no expense while construction this facility.

After many months of research I decided to get involved with the Gypsy Horses. Initially traveling to Europe and ending up purchasing 10 mares and 2 stallions from some breeders in Ireland. My contact purchases most of his Gypsy's from Steve Downs in England. Bit-N-Heaven Stables is also a CEM (Contagious Equine Metritis) Quarantine facility for importing from the UK. Horses arriving at either NY or Miami all require a 3 days Quarantine by the USDA. Horses that need the CEM testing are loaded in a sealed compartment for transferred to a CEM Testing location. Only stallions and mares that have had sexual contact with others need this CEM testing. Others only need the 3 day quarantine by the USDA and can be taken anywhere and no further test need to be performed.

Always wanting a special color, I purchased a silver dapple stallion named Phantom Knight. He was my main breeding stallion for several years and produced several silver foals and only one silver colt, that I had sold before I found Phantom’s problem. While preparing my laboratory for freezing semen I had a big surprise and found most of his semen were dead and there were many white blood cells. Somehow he got a Pseudomonas Infection in his seminal vesicles. After several trips to Auburn Alabama for treatment he lost his battle and had to be gelded. During this period I was able to have Auburn freeze semen and was able to settle 2 mares for 2015. Maybe I will get a silver colt this time. Dr.Johnson now owns Phantom Knight. This year I will be using the last of Phantom’s semen and also use my other stallion (SD Laddie). I have purchase back the silver colt from Phantom. Phantoms Doubloon (We call him Shane). He is under saddle and performing well. Some sad news... Phantom Knight lost his struggle with a severe colic on 2/20/2016.

Moving ahead at the time I decided to take a course on Embryo Transfers. We no longer use live cover for breeding. I am not sure where the infection entered my herd but we use a breeding phantom and Artificially Inseminate all of the mares.
The employees are very well trained and use the ultrasound machine during the breeding season. There is a temperature controlled procedure room with stocks and a rubber floor when needed.

The main home is 2479 sq feet with a 3 car garage (one garage is only 8’ wide) A salt water swimming pool and hot tub provide a tranquil place to relax and savor the scenery. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The home was completely remodeled a several years ago and has all stainless steel appliances along with granite counter tops. There is a real fireplace in the living room along with an ice maker in the great room and a granite covered wet bar. The master bath was also added and has heated floors and cultured marble counter tops with a large shower with a delta body wash system. Did I mention that it also has a cultured marble garden jacuzzi tub?

After several surgeries I have realized that my life needs to become less complicated. I would really like to find someone with my same passion that could continue what I have started. I will do whatever I need to make them successful. This facility is a rare find and only 60 miles from the beautiful beaches in Destin. All of the utilities are buried and if weather is an issue there are generators to keep the feed store open along with the 2 fresh water wells and the necessary parts of the main house. It can also be turned into a 501c3 non profit and qualify for government funding for PTSD veteran treatment. There aren’t many facilities that could qualify because of the housing and training space necessary. The last time I checked the closest PTSD treatment center is in Jacksonville FL. Weddings and /or receptions can also be a option for added revenue. The tack store could be converted into a Veterinary practice. The closest Veterinary practice is in Brewton Alabama. (20 miles) and is only for small animals. Large animal Veterinary practices are over 40 miles from farm. There used to be a Tipi and after several years had to be taken down. The cement pad and it can be used for another one.
